It is surprising how different people’s personalities are compared with animals such as cats and dogs. These two animals are our pets at home, but their characters and traits at times tend to match those of human beings.

Most dog lovers are lovely, full of energy, and outgoing; majorly fun to hang out with because most of them are extroverts. On the other hand, cat lovers are introverts who are sensitive, quiet, and open-minded.

Dog people vs. Cat people

  • 15% of dog people are most likely to be extroverts, while cat people are usually introverts. Dogs, unlike cats, do not like spending most of their time indoors. Dogs and their owners would instead go for a walk or stay somewhere outside in a cool place. Dogs love it when they play around with their owners; it will only stay indoors when unwell. Additionally, dog lovers, due to their extroverted characteristics, are more lively personalities, unlike cat people who tend to be reserved and delicate.
  • Cats are not lovers of nature; 11% of them will stay in the house the whole day without feeling awkward. A noisy environment distracts them; therefore, they are mostly found in a tranquil environment. Most introverts would go for dogs because they make the environment calm and peaceful. Moreover, they are more sensitive and can sense danger easily.
  • Dog people are 9% more likely to think zoos are a happy place to hang out, while cat people are 10% likely to be spending their time on Twitter. Dog people prefer new environments; they can visit different sites, unlike cats. Cats love indoors and would instead enjoy sending messages and tweets on various social media sites.
  • Dog people are 30% most likely to enjoy slapstick comedies, while cat people will 21% enjoy ironic humor instead. For instance, cat people tend to laugh at funny jokes, i.e., slipping on banana peels and so on, whereas cats will find punsters funny because they are a bit creative.
  • The difference between cat people and dog people make their preferences vary in picking out their favorite comedians, musicians, leaders, and public features. For example, you will realize 18% of dog people will consider Paul McCartney as their favorite Beatle, whereas cats will choose George Harrison as their favorite.
  • Dog people’s outgoing character will make them seek attention real quickly as compared to cat people. In case there is an attack, 67% of them may opt to call animal control when they come across stray creatures. If they were cats, they would try to attack the homeless animals; cat people tend to be extremely sensitive.

In conclusion, your pet of choice when it comes to picking between a cat and a dog speaks a lot about your expected character. Lively, people will go for dogs, while those in love with quiet environments will go for cats.
